Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep or record those search terms on our own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email or other direct message when needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Gibson County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Its reference material explains how to reach the Gibson County sheriff, the Circuit Court Clerk, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and the Tennessee Sexual Offender Registry. Visitor information is not compiled into a consumer report or a record about another person, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Independent companies operate the search boxes found on some pages. A partner's own privacy policy applies to information entered in its tool. Because each provider controls its retention, processing, and disclosure rules, visitors should review those terms before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Gibson County offices, Tennessee agencies, court resources, legal-aid organizations, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's policy governs the visit. Review that policy before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use activity across websites to select ads. That processing takes place through the provider's systems and policies.

The Tennessee Public Records Act, Tenn. Code Ann. §§ 10-7-501 et seq., governs access to qualifying records held by Tennessee government custodians, not a general data request to this private site. Tennessee's public TBI criminal-history product operates under Tenn. Code Ann. § 38-6-120. Neither provision turns visitor analytics into a government criminal-history record.
